Mr Nikhil Naren's professional journey seamlessly integrates law, technology, and society, with a strong focus on Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Law, AI governance, and related fields such as data protection, intellectual property, intermediary liability, online brand enforcement, and emerging technologies.
He serves as Assistant Director at the Cyril Shroff Centre for AI, Law & Regulation, is an Assistant Professor at Jindal Global Law School, and works as Of Counsel at Scriboard [Advocates and Legal Consultants]. His diverse portfolio includes teaching, research, policy engagement, training, and consulting in technology law and intellectual property.
One of the youngest Chevening Scholars from India, he earned his LL.M. in Technology, Media, and Telecommunications Law from Queen Mary, University of London in 2022. Additionally, he is a recipient of the United Kingdom's Foreign Office’s 'Gold Award' for Volunteering. He graduated with a B.A. LL.B. from Symbiosis Law School, NOIDA, in 2020, receiving a record Pre-Placement Offer from Scriboard in 2018.
As a standout consultant, he has provided expert consultation to social networking platforms, e-commerce companies, public sector undertakings, start-ups, and Fortune 100 and 500 firms on matters involving the Information Technology Act, intellectual property, contractual disputes, brand protection, privacy, data protection, and emerging technologies. Notably, he has contributed to Microsoft’s 'Cloud Legal Project' and consulted for the Digital Economy Capacity-Building Section of the United Nations Conference on Trade and Development [UNCTAD].
His teaching and research investigate how technological innovations influence rights, markets, institutions, and constitutional values. He has taught various aspects of technology law at over a dozen law schools, including credit courses at NLU Delhi, NLU Odisha, and WBNUJS Kolkata.
Mr. Naren has conducted corporate training and capacity-building sessions for various prestigious organisations, including HCLTech and Luthra & Luthra Law Offices, as well as senior officials from the Office of the Comptroller and Auditor General of India, the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology [MeitY], Election Commission of India, Ministry of External Affairs, Judicial Officers at the Mahrashtra Judicial Academy, among others. He is frequently invited by government entities, universities, and leading organisations to provide consultancy and discuss policy matters on law, artificial intelligence, data protection, privacy, cybersecurity, and digital governance.

Mr. Naren has co-authored several significant books, including 'Technology Law: Regulations, Cyber Policy, and the Digital Landscape', published by Law & Justice Publishing Co. (2026); two editions of 'Artificial Intelligence and Law: Challenges Demystified', published by Law & Justice Publishing Co. (2024 and 2022); and 'Internet Law: Regulating Cyberspace and Emerging Technologies', published by Bloomsbury Professional India (2020).
